TaeKwonDo is a Korean martial art that utilizes punches, jabs, chops, blocking and choking moves, and especially powerful and sometimes elaborate roundhouse, side and back kicks.
The Term TaeKwonDo is made up of three Korean words: Tae, which means "to kick or destroy with the foot"; Kwon, which means "to punch with the fist"; and Do, which means "the way."
This loosely translates into "the way of kicking and punching".
